LOOK: Sharpest Photo of Our Universe Yet, From World's Most Powerful Telescope

President Joe Biden and NASA have released what U.S. authorities described as the deepest and sharpest photo of the universe to date -- using the planet's most powerful telescope.

The James Webb Telescope's deep field infra red technology snapped images of "thousands of galaxies" and the first image to be revealed is that of galaxy cluster SMACS 0723.

How does that cluster compare the the breadth of the universe and consequently, how small we all are? NASA said SMACS 0723 "covers a patch of sky approximately the size of a grain of sand held at arm’s length by someone on the ground".

"Thousands of galaxies – including the faintest objects ever observed in the infrared – have appeared in Webb’s view for the first time," NASA said.
