Earthquake Drill: How to Duck-Cover-Hold During Pandemic Times

Civilian personnel of the Manila Police District headquarters participated in the first-ever virtual National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill  on Thursday, among many who joined the exercise through livestream because of COVID-19 restrictions.

The drill, which aims to "continuously instill to the public earthquake preparedness even during the pandemic" was broadcast on the Facebook page of the Office of Civil Defense.

Viewers were urged to do the duck, cover, and hold in their houses.

"Ipinaalaala rin natin na hindi lamang COVID-19 ang ating dapat paghandaan. Kasabay ng mga hakbang na dapat sundin sa paglikas, dapat din natin isaalang-alang ang mga pamantayan para sa kaligtasan ng publiko ngayong panahon ng pandemya," said Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.
