The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has released new normal guidelines for air transportation through a public service announcement video. If you are among those who are allowed to travel by air during the quarantine, here's what you can expect.
As of Aug. 9, the Bureau of Immigration allows only essential travel, for business and work, medical, emergency, and humanitarian purposes.
Only passengers and essential personnel are allowed to enter and exit terminals. They are mandated to wear face masks, face shields, and observe social distancing measures inside the airport.
Passengers will subjected to mandatory temperature check upon entering the airport, during boarding, and upon arrival.
No-contact security procedures will be done using walkthrough xrays, portable scanners, and handheld metal detectors, among other equipment. Close contact security measures are only applicable in "exceptional circumstances or situations."
Alcohol, soap and foot baths will be available in disinfecting stations at all entry and exit points. Social distancing (at least one meter radius) will be strictly implemented — even inside the aircraft whenever possible with markers serving as guide.
Medical clearances and travel authority documents may be required, depending on the airport or destination. Arriving passengers also need to fill out health declaration and locator forms.
