Miss Universe 2020 host Olivia Culpo addressed Twitter posts about the shocked reaction on her face before announcing the winner. She said she didn't want to name the wrong queen.
Social media rode on that screen capture of Culpo's bewildered look, right before she and co-host Mario Lopez named Mexico's Andrea Meza as the 69th Miss Universe queen. Brazil's Julia Gama was first runner up.
What Culpo has yet to answer: why her hosting lacked energy, as pointed out by fans. Steve Harvey might have messed up Pia Wurtzbach's crowning in 2015, but his hosting of Miss Universe until 2019 was never lacking in energy and self-depcrecating humor.

"I don't think I have ever concentrated so hard on reading in my life than when announcing the winner of Miss Universe this weekend. I ws so terrified of reading the wrong country," said Culpo, who won the pageant in 2012, beating the Philippines' Janine Tugonon.
"Apparently, I need to work on my reading face and I'm sorry if this was misinterpreted in any type of way," she said in an Instagram story.
