The Philippines received an additional 1.3 million doses of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine as the government prepares to inoculate minors as young as 12 years old this month.
Of the total 1,363,300 doses that arrived, 885,700 were procured by the government while 477,600 were bought by the private sector.
The fresh batch of COVID-19 vaccine doses came a day after some 2.1 million Moderna vaccines and over 600,000 doses of AstraZeneca jabs were also delivered to the country.
So far, the Philippines has cleared two vaccine brands for pediatric vaccination --- Pfizer and Moderna --- which is set to start on Oct. 15.
Minors with underlying health conditions will be prioritized for vaccination, the Department of Health said.
