The Philippines on Sunday reported over 7,000 new COVID-19 cases for the third straight day, the Department of Health said, as the resurgent virus continued to spread.
If the 7,757 new cases are added to Saturday's 7,999 and Friday's 7,103, the cumulative number would be enough for MOA Arena to overflow, minus social distancing.
Sunday's tally brought the total number of active cases to 73,702. The country has a cumulative case count of 663,794, the DOH said.
There were 39 deaths reported on Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 12,968. There were 15,288 recoveries, bringing the total to 577,754.
