The Philippines on Thursday received some 250,000 more doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine as it seeks to expand inoculations, authorities said.

The 250,800 doses of Moderna vaccine are part of the 20 million shots ordered from the American drugmaker by the government and the private sector last year.

This is the second delivery from Moderna with the initial batch of 249,600 doses delivered last June 27.

As of July 11,  the Philippines has fully immunize 3.5 million people against COVID-19 while 9.6 million have received their first doses.

The Philippines aims to inoculate at least 50 million of its people by November this year to achieve the government's target of population protection.
