Cycling advocates pedalled on the streets of Metro Manila on Tuesday to mark World Car Free Day, an annual event that aims to promote awareness against global warming by encouraging motorists to try alternatives such as biking.
Over the past 6 months, many commuters turned to biking to get around the city as COVID-19 quarantines capped public transport operations.
Aside from reduced traffic and maintained distance between cyclists, biking is also considered active transport, which promotes physical activity and fitness.
