Officials at the Amado V. Hernandez Elementary School in Tondo, Manila recently distributed modules, tablets, and SIM cards to parents for their children's online classes that will start in October.
Manila City Schools Division Superintendent Maria Magdalena Lim earlier said gadgets are government property, and should be cared for and cannot be sold. If a student graduates, transfers to a school that is not in Manila, or drops out, the tablets should be returned.
"Ang tablet ay parang pahiram lang, para magamit ng mga bata sa kanilang pag-aaral sa distance learning ngayon. Pag-aari pa rin yan ng gobyerno, at habang sila'y nag-aaral, nandun sa kanila ang tablet."
(The tablet is on loan for the students to use in distance learning. It remains as government property while they are using it.)
The adjusted school calendar will conclude on June 16, 2021, with Christmas vacation beginning on Dec. 20, 2020 until Jan. 3, 2021.
