PLDT Gives Heads Up on Five-Day Maintenance of Undersea Cable

(UPDATE) Heads up if you are using the internet for work or school, PLDT Inc said one of the undersea cables that it uses will undergo "emergency maintenance" for five days. Users on its Facebook page where the advisory was posted was flooded with queries on how this would affect service.

The maintenance work on the AAG submarine cables off Hong Kong will run from 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 to 5 a.m. Wednesday next week, Sept. 30, PLDT said without elaborating on the effects. PLDT pushed back the schedule from Friday based on an earlier advisory.

A spokesperson for PLDT did not immediately return a request for comment from reportr.
