Tourists can visit Puerto Princesa in Palawan starting this March as the island destination reopened its white sand beaches to visitors, the Department of Tourism said Friday.

Puerto Princesa City reopened its attractions to local tourists on March 1, the tourism department said.

“We are keen to discover and develop other tourism products to encourage visitors to stay longer or to entice repeat visits. We have great confidence in the city’s future as there is vast potential to further develop its nature-based, farm, and sun and beach tourism products,” Tourism Sec. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said of the reopening.

Here are the requirements for tourists according to the Department of Tourism:

1. Tourists are required to take an RT-PCR Test before travel with 48 hours validity.

2. The negative RT-PCR test result should be emailed directly by the Department of Health-accredited testing facility to the City’s Incident Management Team.

3. A confirmed booking from a DOT-accredited accommodation establishment and travel agency for guided tours.
