To ensure their safety during the coronavirus pandemic, the city government of Quezon City said Friday it was prioritizing healthcare workers in a free COVID-19 antibody mass testing.

Medical frontliners from the city-owned Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH), Rosario Maclang-Bautista General Hospital, and Novaliches District Hospital recently got tested at the QCGH lobby.

Those who develop antibodies can later be considered as donors for convalescent plasma, another potential treatment for COVID-19, said QCGH Director Dr. Josephine Sabando.

"I'm happy po na mayroong tayong test na ganito. Privilege po ito sa amin kasi una po, hindi na kami gagastos sa ganitong test (I'm happy to get  tested. This is a privilege, because we don't have to pay for testing)," said nutritionist-dietician Marygel Libres, who was among those tested.
