Quezon City has launched its first drive-thru vaccination site in partnership with SM Malls, part of its efforts to bring inoculation closer to residents.

The drive-thru site is set up in SM Fairview located in District 5.

"This is another product of our strong partnership with the private sector. This site will be convenient for those who register in groups like a family who just have to drive-thru this site while in the comfort of their cars," Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

Like other inoculation sites, residents are required to undergo registration, screening, vaccination, and post-vaccination evaluation while inside their cars parked in designated slots.

Only citizens pre-registered through the barangay-assisted booking scheme are accommodated.

On its first day, the drive-thru site administered vaccines to 100 residents of Barangay Greater Lagro belonging to A1 to A3 category groups, or medical frontliners, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.

Residents near the drive-thru site are advised to coordinate with their respective barangays for an assisted booking schedule.

Belmonte encouraged the city's residents to book their own vaccination schedule either through the EZConsult website or through barangay-assisted booking.
