Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said Monday she tested positive again for COVID-19, eight months since she first dealt with an asymptomatic infection.

Belmonte said this time, she was experiencing mild symptoms and would continue to work while in a quarantine facility in the city. Full contact-tracing measures are currently being done by the city's health officials to track anyone she has had contact with.

The Quezon City mayor said her case served as a reminder that the threat of the virus remains, even for those who recovered from it.
