Meat lovers need to say goodbye temporarily to Racks Beef Ribs in the coming days, the restaurant said Monday citing the global shipping crisis.

Racks advised customers of the shortage, saying its fall-off-the-bone beef ribs "will be back soon for your delight".

"The global freight crisis has affected Racks' supply of its Best Ribs in Town which is why in the next days, you will be experiencing a shortage of our Beef Ribs," it said in an advisory on its Facebook page.

"Fret not, we are doing our best to keep up with the times," it added.

Customers however can still order Wagyu and Angus Ribeye at Racks.

The impact of the shipping crisis and supply issues is starting to become evident in the food scene with Racks as the latest restaurant in the Philippines to announce a shortage in supply of its banner offering after Mary Grace Café's ensaymadas, and Randy's Donuts halted sales due to a wheat shortage.

Fast food chains offering french fries and other potato products have also limited orders to small sizes due to a potato shipping issue.

Huy Fong Foods, the maker of sriracha, said last week that a severe shortage of chillies in the world has forced it to suspend production of the popular condiment.
