Rainy Season Has Started Officially, Says PAGASA

The wet season is officially here, PAGASA said Wednesday after recording widespread rains for days.

The public can expect intermittent rains due to the southwest monsoon or Habagat in Metro Metro Manila and western parts of the countr, the state weather bureau said in a statement.

Some parts of the country could experience above normal rainfall in the coming months due to the ongoing La Nina or prolonged wet weather, said PAGASA.

Dry spells, or monsoon breaks, are still possible and can last several days or weeks, it said.

PAGASA expects at most one tropical cyclone this May, and one or two tropical cyclones in June.
