GUIDE: Rizal Park and Intramuros Reopen on Sept. 16

Take note of the age requirement.

Rizal Park and three sites in Intramuros will reopen on Sept. 16  when Metro Manila shifts to a new alert-based granular lockdown system, the Department of Tourism said on the eve of the reopening Wednesday.

Fort Santiago, Baluarte de San Diego, and Plaza San Luis will also accept visitors under limited capacity and shortened operating hours, the DOT said.

Rizal Park will be open from 5 to 9 a.m. with a maximum capacity of 500 visitors at any given time, it said.

Fort Santiago will be open from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday to Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekends, with a maximum capacity of 150 visitors at any given time.

Baluarte de San Diego will open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to 80 people at a time. Entrance fee for both sides remain at P75 for regular visitors, and P50 for discounted eligible visitors such as seniors, students and persons with disabilities.

Plaza San Luis will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Entrance is free.

Only those 18 to 65 years old shall be allowed in both Rizal Park and the Intramuros sites. Visitors are advised to download the StaySafe app for faster entry into the park premises.

To encourage more people from the capital region to get their jabs against COVID-19, the DOT will set up an express lane for full-vaccinated individuals who plan to visit the tourist spots in Manila. Fully-vaccinated visitors are allowed to accomplish the mandatory contact tracing form when inside the sites and will only need to present it to security personnel before exit.

All visitors are required to undergo temperature checks at entry points. Wearing of face maks, face shields, frequent disinfection, and observance of physical distance is mandatory.

Staff at Rizal Park and Intramuros are also vaccinated to protect both staff and visitors from the virus.
