Robredo Back to On-Site Work After Completing Quarantine

The VP was a 'very close contact' of a COVID-19 case.

Vice President Leni Robredo said Sunday she would resume physical work in her office after completing her 14-day quarantine due to a "very close contact" with a staff who tested positive for COVID-19.

Robredo said she was on the last day of her quarantine and would be back on her regular work schedule Monday. She had tested negative for COVID-19 but pushed through with the 14-day quarantine as protocols required.

"Makakalaya na ako bukas. Ang dami pa naman naming trabaho," she said during her weekly radio program.

The vice president underscored the need for government agencies to strictly follow health protocols to prevent an outbreak of the virus in their offices. She cited the protocols they implemented in her office, like limiting the number of people entering, to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

"Mahalagang ipaalala ito sa mga opisina na nasa kamay talaga nila yung hawaan sa opisina. Kasi kapag medyo careless, doon talaga naghahawaan," she said.

Robredo also underwent quarantine in late July after she came in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Last month, she received her second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
