Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade said Monday whether or not he runs for public office in 2022 depends on President Rodrigo Duterte.
Tugade was reacting to a report on website Politiko that quoted two sources as saying that Duterte wanted the transport chief, his San Beda law school classmate, to run for senator alongside eight other Cabinet officials.
"I am a good soldier, My commander-in-chief is a very good commander-in-chief. Makikinig at makikinig ako sa kanyang payo," he told Summit Sandwich Sessions
If Duterte tells him to seek public office, the 75-year-old Cabinet secretary said he would run for the position of barangay captain in Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa.
For now, he told the public that if they are looking for continuity in DOTr projects: "Kailangan 'yung ihahalal sa susunod na eleksyon 'yung mga taong magtutuloy ng proyekto ng kagawaran."
