San Miguel Corp moved closer to building the Philippines' P740-billion airport of the future in Bulacan, securing on Wednesday a franchise from the Senate.
A bicameral conference will reconcile the Senate franchise bill with the House version approved in early September before President Rodrigo Duterte could sign it into law.

San Miguel President Ramon Ang had touted the Bulacan airport as the solution to the perennial congestion problem at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport. It will be built by San Miguel Aerocity.
"We have been waiting for this for so long. This is a dream come true project," said Sen. Joel Villanueva, who is from Bulacan.
