(UPDATE) Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said Saturday she met with presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and elder sister Imee Marcos, stirring talk among their supporters of a brewing tandem.

Duterte-Carpio said she met with Marcos at the birthday party of Tingog Sinirangan Party-List Rep. Yedda Romuladez, a cousin-in-law of Bongbong and Imee Marcos. She shared photos on Facebook but did not elaborate.

Duterte-Carpio, who is seeking releection, arrived in the city late Friday wearing a green "Sara All 2022" hoodie, the color and slogan of supporters who continue to urge her to run for president. She met with her cousin, 5th District Board Member Red Duterte.

Bongbong Marcos arrived Friday and was welcomed by Cebu 5th District Rep. Duke Frasco, the husband of Duterte-Carpio's spokesperson, Liloan town Mayor Christina Garcia-Frasco.

Duterte-Carpio did not say whether she would meet with Bongbong, whom she beat by five points in Pulse Asia's September poll of voter preference for president.

Duterte-Carpio said she would rather seek reelection than run to replace her father, President Rodrigo Duterte.

The elder Duterte's PDP-Laban Party drafted ex-national police chief, Sen. Ronald dela Rosa, as presidential candidate, with the provision to give way should Duterte-Carpio change her mind. The president's daughter is not a member of the party.

National candidates have until Nov. 15 to file for substitution under rules that lawmakers in the Senate and the House said shuld be revised to guard against abuse.
