Senator Cynthia Villar's unguarded moment during a live video call drew laughter among her fellow senators on the afternoon of Monday, May 11.
The solons were already having technical difficulties in their online Senate session, and could barely hear each other, when Villar was caught on cam calling for a certain Diane.
Villar was heard saying, "O, ano sagot dito, Diane? Diane!"
Senator Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri was about to say something, but stopped when he heard Villar calling for "Diane."
A brief moment of silence, then Villar's fellow senators burst out laughing.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III remarked, "Senator Villar, you are well-advised to put off your microphone."
Villar replied, smiling, "Sorry! Sorry!"
Zubiri chimed in, "Mr. President, while we're having technical difficulties with Senator Villar's microphone..."
Then the camera shifted to Senator Manny Pacquiao who was seen chuckling at the unexpected disturbance to the Senate discussion.
Senator Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara quipped, "I move that Diane be recognized, Mr. President!"
This elicited more laughter among them, including from Senator Franklin Drilon, whose face was shown during the live session.
Thereafter, Villar muted her mic, and Zubiri proceeded to discuss their weighty topic.
