The day's cases brought active cases to 170,446, with cumulative total since the pandemic began to 2,283,011. There were 214 deaths and 24,123 new recoveries bringing the running totals to 35,742 and 2,076,823.

MECQ in the capital region is expected to end on Sept. 15, and will follow a new alert-based granular lockdown system starting Sept. 16.
