Disney, FOX Channels Go Off-Air on SKYCable

Disney is halting cable broadcast in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.

Cable television provider SKYCable Corp. said subscribers would no longer be able to watch Disney and FOX channels effective Oct. 1.

This cease in broadcast will be implemented in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, according to SKY.

"As a result, all pay TV operators in the country will no longer be able to offer these channels," SKY said.

These Disney and Fox channels are no long airing on SKYCable:

  • Disney Channel
  • Disney Junior
  • Nat Geo People
  • Channel V
  • FOX
  • FOX Life
  • FOX Crime
  • FOX Family Movies
  • FOX Movies
  • FOX Family Movies
  • FOX Sports
  • FOX Sports 2
  • FOX Sports 3

The channels will end their broadcast across Southeast Asia and Hong Kong permanently, SKY said on its website.

The Walt Disney Co. acquired 21st Century Fox's entire television and film libraries over a period of two years, from 2017 to 2019. The company launched streaming service Disney+ on Nov. 12, 2019, with rollout in Southeast Asia to come.
