Spider-Man star Tom Holland said Sunday he would take a break from Instagram and Twitter as it's "very detrimental" to his mental health.
The 26-year-old English actor said in a video that he returned briefly to Instagram to announce his social media break and shed light on Stem4, a charity focusing on teens' mental health.

"I've been taking a break from social media for my mental health because I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming. I get caught up and spiral when I read things about me online," he told his 67.7 million Instagram followers.
"Ultimately, it's very detrimental to my mental state so I decided to take a step back and delete the app."
Holland also urged his followers to support Stem4. His family, who is behind The Brothers Trust organization, aims to channel the actor's reach and popularity to put the spotlight on charities struggling for exposure.
"There's an awful stigma against mental health and I know that asking for help and seeking help isn't something we should be ashamed of but it's something that is much easier said than done," he said, hoping that the apps offered by Stem4 can be of help to struggling teens.
"Love to you all, and let’s get talking about mental health," Holland said.
