Staycation Hotels Can Drop COVID Test Requirement: Roque

They can operate at 100% capacity too.

Hotels accredited for staycations by the Department of Tourism can forego COVID-19 testing for guests and have been allowed to accommodate guests up to its full capacity, Malacañang said Friday.

Staycation hotels no longer have to require COVID-19 testing for accommodation as long as guests are limited to age 18 to 65, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.

"Pinapayagan din ang staycation hotels na huwag ng ipa-COVID-19 ang mga guest basta sila ay nasa edad na 18 to 65 years old," he said.

Accommodation establishments accredited by the Department of Tourism in areas under general community quarantine can accept guests for leisure purposes up to 30% of its capacity, Roque said, noting the need to adhere to government guidelines.

Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal are under GCQ with "heightened restrictions" until May 31.
