Severe Tropical Storm Bising (Surigae) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday, which could bring rains to the eastern portions of the Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA said.
The second storm or typhoon of 2021 was packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kph with 135 kph gusts. PAGASA earlier said Bising could intensify into a typhoon.
PAGASA did not immediately give a forecast on landfall. However, a model from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center in the Pacific showed Bising would likely curve westward after entering PAR without hitting land.
