The Taal Volcano belched steam as high as 3 kilometers on Wednesday, two weeks after its last degassing, Phivolcs said.
The volcano released steam that drifted north for 25 minutes at dawn, Phivolcs said. It spewed an average of 3,849 tons of sulfur dioxide on Aug. 9.
Taal remains under Alert Level 2 or decreased unrest. It means sudden explosions, volcanic earthquakes, or minor ashfalls may happen and threaten nearby areas, Phivolcs said.
Phivolcs also recorded 107 volcanic earthquakes over the last 24 hours, including 100 volcanic tremors lasting up to 30 minutes.
It also reminded residents that it is prohibited to enter Taal Volcano Island, Taal's Permanent Danger Zone, and the vicinities of the Main Crater, Daang Kastila fissure. Boating on the Taal Lake is also forbidden.
