Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle has recovered from COVID-19, the Pontificio Collegio Filippino (PCF) in Rome said.
The former Manila archbishop and prefect of the Vatican's Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples tested positive for the coronavirus when he arrived in Manila last Sept. 10. Three days before that, his results from another test came out negative.
According to CBCPNews, Tagle remained asymptomatic while in isolation for 13 days.
Fr. Gregory Gaston, the rector at PCF where the cardinal stayed since February, described the cardinal's recovery as "a great joy for the whole Church."
More than 30 priests and staff at PCF were reportedly tested and put in quarantine as a precaution. All turned out to be negative.
