The city government of Taguig has unveiled its newest ally in its fight against COVID-19 at the Lakeshore Hotel Mega-Quarantine Facility. Meet Robonurse.
Developed by the Taguig Robotics Team, the machines were made to assist and minimize hazards for medical personnel in taking care of coronavirus patients.
According to Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano, the Robonurses will "physically carry medication and other supplies to COVID-19 patients while the nurses look on from the monitor at the head of the robot."
"Amid the pandemic, Taguig has also shown that it is unafraid of technology. This time, to minimize the hazards for our health workers, we will be deploying our 'Robonurses.' All these steps are a testament to our commitment to an effective COVID-19 response," he said during a recent turnover of face masks.
Also rising in Taguig is the Lakeshore Hotel Mega-Quarantine Facility. It is set to operate at full capacity in three months and can accommodate up to 500 patients.
Each structure is equipped with beds, partitions, air-conditioning, bath, toilet, and living room.
