The National Museum Reopens Oct. 19, Here's Your Guide

The National Museum of the Philippines will reopen its doors to the public on Tuesday, Oct. 19 as more leisure businesses resumed operations in Metro Manila.

Museums along with cinemas are among additional businesses allowed to reopen in the capital region which was downgraded to Alert Level 3 from Alert Level 4 on Oct. 16.

If you're planning a visit to the National Museum, here's what you need to know:

Who can visit?

Only full-vaccinated individuals can visit. Proof of vaccination and identification is required upon entry.

What are the visiting hours?

The National Museum will be open from Tuesdays to Sundays with two sessions each day. The first session is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with cut off time at 11 a.m. The second session is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with cut off time at 3 p.m.

Visitors will be limited to 100 per museum per session.

Is a reservation needed?

Yes, visitors need to reserve a slot online at least a day before the visit. Walk-in visitors are not allowed.

To book a slot, visit www.nationalmuseum.gov.ph and click “Book a Tour.”

You will receive an e-mail confirmation for your booking. For group reservations, bookings are limited to five persons only.

What are the COVID-19 protocols?

1. A temperature scan is required in each building.

2. Those with temperatures of 37.5 degrees celsius and above will be prohibited entry.

3. Persons with COVID-19 symptoms will be prohibited entry.

4. Visitors need to accomplish a health declaration form which can be done online through the StaySafePH app.

5. Visitors need to wear face masks and face shields at all times within the museum.

6. Social distancing must be observed at all times.
