The destinations have scrapped the negative RT-PCR requirement for fully vaccinated persons to help revive leisure travel, the Department of Tourism said Thursday.
A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after completing the required shots -- two for Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Sputnik V and one for J&J, the only single-dose vaccine available locally.
Tourism Sec. Berna Romulo-Puyat thanked the local government units for easing travel restrictions. She said the department eyes to vaccinate 100% of tourism workers by December 2021.
These destinations waived the negative RT-PCR and antigen test result requirement:
- Cebu Province
- Lapu-Lapu City
- Catbalogan City
These destinations require vaccination certificates from VaxCertPH:
- Bohol
- Iloilo City
- Negros Occidental
These destinations require only vaccination cards from tourists:
- Clark Freeport Zone (except areas under ECQ)
- Subic Bay Freeport Zone
- Tarlac (for areas under ECQ and MECQ)
- Masbate Province
- Southern Leyte
- Tacloban City
- Maasin City
- Misamis Oriental
The DOT also clarified that Boracay still requires a negative RT-PCR swab test for all allowed tourists, including those from Metro Manila. Exempted are tourists from Panay Island including Guimaras.
