Tropical Depression Vicky made landfall in the Davao Region Friday, as Mayor Sara Duterte of Davao City and local authorities alerted the public over possible flooding.
Vicky, the 22nd storm to enter the Philippines this year, slammed into Baganga, Davao Oriental at 2 p.m. and is expected to cross Mindanao towards the Bohol Sea early Saturday PAGASA said.
It could pass close to Siquijor and another landfall over Negros island in possible, PAGASA said.
Mayor Sara Duterte went on local radio, urging Davao City residents to take extra precaution against possible flash floodsand landslides. Rainwater can contribute to floods in the city, she said.

During the rainy season, low-lying parts of Davao City are prone to flooding which sometimes render roads impassable.
Earlier Friday, PAGASA raised a general flood advisory over the Davao Region, specifically in low-lying areas and riverside communities in Davao del Sur, which includes the cities of Davao and Digos, and nearby municipalities.
Rivers and their tributaries in Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental could overflow, the weather bureau said.
