The truck ban in Metro Manila will return on Dec. 14 in preparation for the holiday rush, the MMDA said Wednesday.

The MMDA suspended the number coding scheme and truck ban during quarantines to allow for ease of movement for essential goods and workers. While the number coding scheme remains suspended, the truck ban will be restored.

"So, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., bawal po ulit lumabas ang truck sa mga national roads, major thoroughfares na hawak ng MMDA, at 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.," MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia told Teleradyo.

Garcia mentioned the schedule for Monday to Friday, but is yet to finalize the schedule for weekends.

However, he stated that trucks are banned from EDSA 24/7. "May mga truck routes naman tayo, madami po yan," he said.
