Twitter's Edit Feature is Finally Available for Testing

Twitter said Thursday it started testing its divisive and most requested Edit Tweet feature, which would allow users to revise their tweets after publishing.

With Edit Tweet, users will have 30 minutes to tweak their posts, in case there's a typo error or missed tags, the micro-blogging site said.

"if you see an edited Tweet it's because we're testing the edit button, this is happening and you'll be okay," the verified Twitter account said.

All edited tweets will have an icon, timestamp and label that it has been modified and it will also show the Edit Tweet history by tapping the label.

Twitter is testing it internally and will roll it to Twitter Blue subscribers in the coming weeks.

While editing tweets will be limited to paid subscribers during testing, everyone will still see if a tweet has been edited, said Twitter.

Aware of concerns that Edit Tweet could be prone to misuse, Twitter said it would implement time limits for edits and show version history as they "help protect the integrity of the conversation and create a publicly accessible record of what was said."
