The Academic Oval at the Diliman campus of the University of the Philippines will be closed from Jan. 23 to Feb. 4 following cases of the new COVID-19 variant in Quezon City.

Prior to the pandemic, the oval was closed off to vehicular traffic during the weekends to make way for bikers and joggers who use the road as track.
In an advisory posted on social media, the university said it would temporarily close the oval for health and safety reasons.
The oval will reopen on Feb. 5.
