The University of the Philippines said Tuesday it has opened college applications for the academic year 2022 to 2023.
For now, UP said it has yet to decide on whether an admission test will be part of the screening. It set a Nov. 30 deadline for submission of requirements.
The university scrapped the UP College Admission Test or UPCAT for academic year 2021-2022 because of the pandemic.
"Due to the dynamic developments in the public health situation in the light of COVID-19, there is no final decision yet as to whether an admission test will be administered for intake year 2022-2023," it said on the UP College Admissions website.
Should an admission test be given, UP said exam results and high school grades would be the main components in obtaining the UP admission grade.
If there will be no admission test, the state university said it would use the composite of the final grades in Grades 8, 9, 10, and 11 as the basis to determine the UP admission grade.
Here are the minimum qualifications for aspiring Iskos and Iskas:
- Senior high school student expecting to graduate before SY 2022-2023 from a DepEd-accredited high school or an accredited secondary school abroad
- Graduate of a DepEd-accredited high school or accredited secondary school abroad
- Must have final grades for Grade 8, 9, 10, and Grade 11
- Must not have taken any college subject/s
- Must not have taken the UP College Admission Test in the AY 2020-2021 intake or earlier
- Must not have applied and completed the UP College Application for the AY 2021-2022 intake
Those who wish to apply are told to visit the UP Office of Admissions' website to access the application portal.
Applicants are also required to read the General Information Bulletin before filing their application.
