Supah, a new grocery delivery app, was launched on Wednesday promising to deliver groceries within 15 minutes to help customers save time and gas money.
Using the "dark gorcery" concept wherein physical outlets are set up exclusively for online delivery, Supah operates eight stores with 100 riders servicing areas with a combined five million customers, said Brian Cu, chief executive officer of SariSuki, the parent company of Supah.
"You no longer need to go out. You just have to order on the app and you save on time and you save on gas," Bam Mejia, chief commercial officer of Supah, told reporters.
Lance Gokongwei, president and CEO of JG Summit, said he was "optimistic" that the conglomerate's investment in SariSuki and Supah is in line with its digital transformation initiative.
"We felt that there are a lot of talented entrepreneurs out there who we felt might benefit not only from our capital but also from our existing ecosystems," Gokongwei said.

Where does Supah deliver?
For now, Supah can service select Metro Manila areas with some 100 riders namely:
- Makati
- Bonifacio Global City
- Ortigas Center
- San Juan City
- Mandaluyong City
- New Manila, Quezon City
- Timog areas in Quezon City
- Pasig City
The areas included so far were decided based on an algorithm and Supah's capability to provide the service, Cu said.
How much is the delivery fee?
As part of its introductory promo, Supah deliveries are free for the month of June however once the promo ends, the fixed minimal fee is P39.
What is available?
Customers can buy a wide variety of grocery goods and everyday needs from Supah app such as bread, personal care items, fresh produce, meat and fish, rice, eggs, even alcohol, cigarettes, vape, and condoms.
Grocery items ordered by customers come from eight dark stores that cater to a 5-million population.
How to order via Supah?
Here are the steps to order:
1. Download and install the Supah app on your phone from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Input your address. Note that areas serviced by Supah are select Metro Manila areas for now.
3. Order the items you need.
4. Check your cart and proceed to checkout.
5. Input your address details and pay via cash on delivery, debit or credit card, or e-wallet.
6. Wait for your order to arrive in 15 minutes. The Supah app shows a deadline.
How does the 15-minute delivery work?
According to Bam Mejia, chief commercial officer of Supah, the 15-minute window for deliveries start once customers confirm their orders on the app.
Brian Cu, chief executive officer of Supah said the average delivery time for now is at 8.5 minutes and has a 99% success rate based on their initial pilot run.
What happens if deliveries are late?
For now, Cu said Supah provides customers with P500 if they receive their deliveries beyond the 15-minute window but noted that the promo could change in the future.
He however assured that riders do not receive any financial penalties from the late deliveries.
