The pink and green-colored rose that symbolizes the campaign of presidential candidate Leni Robredo and running mate Kiko Pangilinan on Sunday featured the Philippine flag colors, embracing inclusivity in its promise to fight for all Filipinos regardless of their political affiliations.
It now bears the tandem's colors pink and green, and the flag's blue, red, and yellow. Robredo's rival Bongbong Marcos uses red for his campaign, while Isko Moreno uses blue.
Shifting from #IpanaloNa10To to #IpanaloNa10ParaSaLahat, a play on her ballot number, Robredo said her campaign for a people's governent includes every Filipino.
"Lahat kasama sa laban. Lahat ipinaglalaban. Lahat paglilingkuran. Lahat pakikinggan," she said.
"Ang kampanya natin ay kampanya para sa lahat ng Pilipino — iba iba man ang kulay," senatorial candidate Chel Diokno said.
Robredo, who has long been identified with yellow, the color of the Aquino family and resistance against the Marcos dictatorship in the 1980s, suited up in pink when she declared her independent run for president. Her running mate Pangilinan also switched from yellow to green to highlight his advocacy for agriculture and farmers' welfare.
Criticized by her rivals for aiming for the presidency just to stop the Marcoses' return to Malacanang, Robredo earlier denied it's the sole reason why she's running.
"Ang nilalabanan natin 'yung masamang pamamahala na siya yung nagiging sanhi ng mga problemang pinagdadaanan natin ngayon. 'Yung bulok na klase ng pulitika na paulit-ulit na nangyayari ngayon," she said.
