How Long is the Wait for a Yellow Card Appointment?

Those applying for an appointment to get a yellow card for international travel will have to wait until December to get a slot, the Bureau of Quarantine's website showed Thursday.

The yellow card or International Certificate of Vaccination is a travel document often presented when there is increased health risk for travelers.

Prior to COVID-19, the card was used to record inoculations for infectious diseases like polio. The yellow card is accepted for international travel as the Philippines awaits a unified COVID vaccine card or certification.

The earliest appointment is for December 2021.

Only those flying out for work or emergency travel should apply for the yellow card. Getting the document for any other reason is discouraged, as to make way for Filipinos who actually need an appointment to fly out.

Passengers are also advised to check their destination's travel requirements before heading out, as not all countries require the yellow card.

"Hindi lahat ng pupunta sa ibang bansa kailangan ng ICV, ang kailangan lang pupunta ng ibang bansa ay makipag-ugnayan dun sa health ministry kung san sila pupunta, kung ano yung mga requirements," BOQ Director Dr. Roberto Salvador Jr. earlier said.
