Mobile wallet app GCash on 11-11 Thursday warned users against links in fake e-mails which could compromise their data.

Targetted users will receive an e-mail stating their account was blocked due to unsuccessful login attempts. Users are then adivsed to secure their account by clicking a link that could ask for personal information or their GCash mobile PIN.

"GCash will NEVER send an email asking you to provide your MPIN or log in outside the GCash app," GCash said in an advisory.
