The Philippines is relaxing entry requirements for foreign spouses and children of Filipinos returning to the country, Malacañang said Thursday as borders reopened to foreign tourists.

Foreign spouses and children of returning Filipinos including former Filipino nationals with Balikbayan privileges under the law no longer have to present a valid return ticket when traveling to the Philippines, Cabinet Sec. Karlo Nograles said.

The government's inter-agency task force on COVID-19 response also amended entry policies to allow foreign nationals traveling to the Philippines under a temporary visitor's visa to stay beyond 30 days for purposes other than business and leisure through an entry exemption document.

Other requirements are as follows according to Nograles:

1. They need to be fully vaccinated except for minors below 12 years old traveling with fully vaccinated parents.

2. They carry acceptable proof of vaccination.

3. They have a negative RT-PCR test result taken within 48 hours before travel to the Philippines.
