The Commission on Elections on Friday released the tentative list of candidates for the 2022 national and local elections. Security guard Phil delos Reyes, who went viral for advocating workers' rights, made the first cut for senator.
Among the 97 names included in the certified list of candidates for president are: Vice President Leni Robredo, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Sen. Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, ex-Sen. Bongbong Marcos, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and labor leader Leody de Guzman.
Included in the list of 28 vice presidential candidates are Buhay Party-list Rep. Lito Atienza, Sen. Bong Go, social media doctor Willie Ong, Sen. Francis Pangilinan and Sen. Tito Sotto.
For senator, 174 names are on the list. Comelec also listed down the names of politicians running in the local elections.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez asked aspirants to check the names on the list in case of errors.
"The contents of the list, particularly the names of the aspirants/candidates, political parties, as well as the name to appear on the ballot are subject to change as a result of any evaluation and/or resolution to the Commission En Banc in relation thereto," Comelec's disclaimer read.
