Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Sunday said he would limit his attendance in official events until Tuesday next week as he underwent platelet-rich plasma therapy for his knees.
The millennial mayor said on Facebook that his doctor advised him to cut back on walking until Monday to avoid stressing his knees after the procedure.
"Magpapaalam lang ako na limitado lang muna ang maaattendan kong events hanggang sa Martes," Sotto said.

Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a procedure that uses a patient’s own blood cells to accelerate healing in injured areas, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. In 2017, Sotto underwent double knee surgery.
"Napaisip nga ako nung International Youth Day nung Aug. 12, 33 years old pa lang ako, pang-senior citizen na itong tuhod ko. Kailangan alagaan din natin ang ating kalusugan," Sotto joked.
To further speed up his healing process, Sotto said he would take hyaluronic acid lubricant and undergo a knee strengthening program next month.
"Malay natin, makapag-'back from retirement' pagkatapos ng ilang buwan," he added.
