The owner of the SUV who hit and drove over a mall security guard in Mandaluyong has been charged with frustrated murder and abandonment, ABS-CBN reported Tuesday, after the incident went viral on social media.
The white Toyota RAV-4 hit Christian Floralde as he was directing traffic on the intersection of Julia Vargas and St. Francis streets on Sunday. The car ran over Floralde and fled after hitting him, based on the video.

Authorities will ask the owner of the vehilce to explain the incident, Land Transportation Office Chief Edgar Galvante told TeleRadyo late Monday. If the car owner wasn't driving during the incident, they need to present who was on the steering wheel, he said.
"Kasama sa show-cause na suspended 'yung lisensya ng 90 days. Hindi ibig sabihin na 'yun na ang kaparusahan... kumbaga ang kanyang pribilehiyo kung siya man nagda-drive nun ay suspended muna until probably he is cleared or pronounced guilty."
Should Floralde chooe to settle the incident privately, the driver could still face administrative sanctions such as suspension or revocation of license, said Galvante.
