Raffy Tulfo is Running for Senator, Seeking Action in Lawmaking

(UPDATE) Broadcaster Raffy Tulfo on Saturday filed his certificate of candidacy for senator, seeking to translate his popularity as the Filipino masses' court of last resort into a seat in the legislature.

Tulfo puts to task almost anyone from cheating lovers to scammers to slow-to-act government officials for his 21.7 million YouTube subscribers and 18.4 million Facebook followers to see. He quit his TV program on Friday.

"Confident ako na ang mga subscribers ko ay susuporta sa akin at hindi lang mga subscribers ko ang susuporta sa akin," he said.

"Nakikita ko kasi for so many years nagkakaron ng limitation ang ginagawa kong pagtulong, hindi sapat... Ito na ang pagkakataon para makagawa po ako ng hakbang at aksyon, makabuluhan na batas para sa mga maliliit nating kababayan," he said.

Running as an independent, Tulfo's name was floated as a possible candidate for the tickets of presidential aspirant Panfilo Lacson and a PDP-Laban faction that supports President Rodrigo Duterte's candidacy for vice president.
