Robredo's Angat Buhay Eyes Legal Action vs Lorraine Badoy

Former Vice President Leni Robredo's Angat Buhay Foundation said Friday it was "preparing possible legal actions" against former counter-insurgency task force spokesperson Lorraine Badoy, who recently linked the anti-poverty organization to the underground movement. 

Angat Buhay said it "strongly [condemns] and unequivocally [denies] the allegations" issued by Badoy that aired on a cable TV program last July 4.

In the now-viral clip, Badoy had accused members and volunteers of Angat of being communist rebels.

"We strongly condemn and unequivocally deny the allegations made by Lorraine Badoy against Angat Buhay last 04 July 2022 in a cable television program. Her claims are utterly baseless and completely false, and worse, encourage the harassment of our staff members, volunteers, and partners," Angat Buhay's statement read.

"We will not allow these efforts to sabotage our work to prosper. The time to stand up to fake news and hold its purveyors to account is now," it said, thanking supporters for expressing  concern.
