The Ateneo De Manila University said Thursday it was launching a COVID-19 vaccination program for its community members to help the government achieve population protection.
The immunization drive covers students, teachers, employees as well as their eligible dependents, Ateneo president Fr. Roberto Yap said in a memorandum.
The university is awaiting delivery of 18,000 vaccine dose, Yap said.
"Hand in hand with the local government units that have their own vaccination programs, we aim to provide added protection to the members of our community against the severe effects of COVID-19 through vaccination and help in the attainment of population protection in NCR Plus," he added.

Who are covered in the vaccination program?
Yap said that due to the limited supply of COVID-19 vaccines, the jabs will be administered only to members of the Ateneo community who are 18 years old and above and with their informed consent. Policies and guidelines of the national government must also be followed in the vaccine rollout.
The vaccines will be administered by groups and in the following order:
- Group I
- Full-time employees
- Full-time teaching and non-teaching personnel regardless of rank and employee status (probationary or regular)
- Part-time employees
- Faculty on special engagement, including visiting professors
- Part-time faculty members
- Coaches/trainers
- Employees under temporary employment
- Jesuits in the Jesuit Residence, Loyola House of Studies, East Asian Pastoral Institute, Arrupe International Residence, San Jose Seminary, Jesuit Health and Wellness Center, Sacred Heart Novitiate
- Full-time employees
- Group II
- Independent contractors, e.g., researchers, guest lecturers, etc.
- Employees of the Affiliate units
- Group III
- University students
- Group IV
- Eligible dependents of Group I (spouse, children, parents, siblings of single employees)
Once all recipients under Group I have been vaccinated, the remaining doses will be administered to the next group, Yap said.
The university tapped AC Health, an Ayala company, to manage the administration of the vaccines. The venue for the vaccination will be at the Loyola Schools Covered Courts.
How to register?
Yap said those who are interested to register for the vaccination program can enlist through http://bit.ly/UVPEnlistmentForm.
The next steps of the registration will be done through HealthNow, a mobile platform that AC Health will allow those in the masterlist to access.
Once the vaccines arrive, Yap said AC Health would contact those who registered to confirm their appointments.
Is there a fee?
Yap said the university would subsidize the cost of the vaccine and its administration for its eligible employees under Group I. The cost of vaccination for the university's scholars will also be fully subsidized.
Other groupswill have to pay in favor of the university for advancing the payment of the vaccines to the supplier and the vaccine administrator’s service fee.
The Philippines is aiming to vaccinate at least 50 million Filipinos, enough to achieve herd immunity by late November.
