Be at the Airport 3 to 4 Hours Before Your Flight to Lessen Travel Stress

Passengers flying during the December peak travel period are reminded to prepare in advance to avoid stress, the Philippines' largest airline Cebu Pacific said on Tuesday.

Airports are often busier during the end of the year as Filipinos fly back home to spend time with their families or head out on trips over the holidays. To prevent delays and hassle, the airline gave passengers tips for a smooth flight.

Flying over the holidays? Keep these reminders from Cebu Pacific in mind:

Stay updated

Restrictions are fluid, especially since local government units decide on border control based on the COVID-19 situation in their area of jurisdiction. Frequently check on your destination's requirements and have everything ready before your flight.

Vaccine card

Always bring your vaccine card with you, both in hard copy and digital form. Best to have a photo of the front and back of your vaccine card just in case. As for the actual card, you can put it in a clear case or plastic to prevent tears, stains, or water damage.

Check in online

You can check in online and get your digital boarding pass loaded to your phone before you even head to the airport. Keep in mind that bag drop counters close one hour before the flight.

Apart from eliminating long lines at airports, online check ins are also a way to minimize contact to protect both passengers and staff, said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific's Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience.

Be there early

To avoid holiday rush and traffic, arrive early for your flight: at least three hours for domestic flights and at least four hours for international travel. For contactless flights, you can get luggage tags at self bag tag kiosks.

Wear a mask and bring extra

Masks are mandatory in all airports and flights. Guests without masks may be denied entry. Face shields are optional, or subject to your destination's Alert Level protocols.

Handcarry items

Only handcarry items within the 7kg limit will be allowed. Handcarry must not exceed 39 inches on any one side for the size.
