Bike-Friendly Robinsons Malls Win in Mobility Awards

Robinsons Malls said Friday nine of its branches won in the Mobility Awards for providing facilities that encourage biking as alternative transportation during the pandemic.

The winning malls are Robinsons Place Antipolo in Rizal Province, Robinsons Place Butuan in Agusan del Norte, Robinsons Place Gensan, Robinsons Place Iloilo, Robinsons Place Roxas City in Capiz, Robinsons North Tacloban in Leyte, Robinsons Place Bacolod in Negros Occidental, Robinsons Galleria South in Laguna, and Robinsons Mall Tagaytay in Cavite.

They were chosen based on five criteria, infrastructure, integration, implementation, innovation, and inclusivity. The Mobility Awards is organized by the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities, MNL Moves, The Climate Reality Project Philippines, 350.org Pilipinas, and Pinay Bike Commuter together with 25 regional partners composed of civic groups.

“Robinsons Malls have always promoted biking as an eco-friendly alternative to mobility and an ideal activity for a healthy lifestyle,” said Arlene Magtibay, RLC Senior Vice President and Robinsons Malls General Manager.

Robinsons Place Antipolo, Robinsons Place Butuan, and Robinsons Place Iloilo received silver medals in infrastructure for providing  bike racks, storage areas, water refill stations, changing rooms, and showers.

Robinsons Place Antipolo got the silver medal for integration, which recognizes programsthat help promote biking as a mobility option.
